Detailed instructions for this experiment will be given when the experiment is assigned.
This lab consists of one or two periods in which the class meets in the Technology computer room for
each student to use a computer to program Excel to analyze a 2-D steady state thermal diffusion problem
and a 2-D transient thermal diffusion problem.
The Excel screen shown on the right models a rectangular plate where the temperature of one side is suddenly
altered while the other 3 sides are exposed to a constant temperature fluid. The numerical analysis procedure determines
the center temperature after 5 minutes.
